RAPID DRAW
BALLOT FOR 16,000 COMPLETION LIKELY TODAY NORTH ISLAND AREAS DONE (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Such good progress was made today with the ballot for 16,000 men for territorial service, now being conducted in Wellington, that it is hoped to complete the draw tomorrow. On the first day, yesterday, 4800 names were drawn from the register for the Auckland, Paeroa and Whangarei districts. The entire quotas for the Hamilton, Wellington, Wanganui and Napier areas, amounting to 5650 men, were drawn today. If this rate is maintained there is a possibility the draw will finish tomorrow afternoon. There are approximately 6550 more names to be drawn, mostly from the southern military district.
