TROOPS PROMOTED WAIKATO REGIMENT NAMES NARROW NECK COURSE ENDING When the special course for officers, non-commissioned officers, and prospective non-commissioned officers of the Ist Battalion, 16th Waikato Regiment, ends at Narrow Neck this week, a number of noncommissioned officers and privates will come out with promotions. Sixty men have been awarded higher rank in reward for the efficiency they have shown during the course, which has extended over three months. ADVANCE PARTY MEN CAMP AT CAMBRIDGE DAY ALTERED TO FRIDAY Instead of encamping at the racecourse, Cambridge, to-morrow as previously arranged, the advance party of the Ist Battalion, 16th Waikato Regiment, will enter camp on Friday morning. It will go under canvas under the command of Major S. E. Senior M.C., of Hamilton. The unit will be fully mobilised on October 1 at Cambridge. Three months’ intensive camp training will be undertaken by the battalion, the first month, according to present plans, being spent at Cambridge. The advance party will consist of four officers and 72 other ranks. Men from Hamilton and the near surrounding district will parade at the Drill Hall, Knox Street, at 8 a.m. on Friday before proceeding to Cambridge. Officers being mobilised with the advance party are Major S. E. Senior, M.C., Lieutenant C. A. Voss, Lieutenant W. S. Dingle and Second-Lieutenant K. E. Louden.
