NGARUAWAHIA FUNCTION
RED CROSS DANCE A very successful and enjoyable dance was held in the Town Hall, j Ngaruawahia, on Thursday evening, j the proceeds being to augment the funds of the local branch of the Red Cross. There was a large attend- | ance of dancers, music being supplied by Mrs F. Tarplett’s orchestra, with extras by members of the Maori Reinforcement. The masters of ceremonies were Messrs K. M. Wright and A. Menzies. The hall and supper-rooms were artistically arranged with ferns, rhododendrons, and sprays of japonica. A bridge tournament run in conjunction with the dance was held in the Red Cross rooms, the winners being Mrs R. B. McLaren and Mrs G. B. Isdale. Among those present were:—Mesdames K.
