Copyright) (Received Sept. 20, 3.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, Sept. 19 The Air Minister announced that the Canadian Air Force by October 1 will consist of 26,500 officers and men, including several hundred trained pilots from the United States. He added that American pilots were enlisting at the rate of nearly 200 a month.

Copyright) (Received Sept. 20. 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 19 The air force of the Free French forces is taking an active part in cooperation with British squadrons in operations again Italy in Eastern Africa. In this connection it is learned that four airmen—a captain, a lieutenant, and two sub-lieutenants—are reported missing.

Copyright) " (Received Sept. 20, 3.15 p.m.) BUCHAREST, Sept. 19 It is reliably reported that 400 lorries, intending to collect German nationals in Bessarabia, were refused permission to enter Soviet territory. The Russian officials declared that they themselves would bring the refugees to the frontier. The Rumanian police ordered twelve British teachers to leave the country within a fortnight. The Diplomatic Corps has been informed that General Antonescu is taking the title of “Conducator” (leader).
