ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY
CONCURRENT GAOL TERM (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Thursday For escaping from custody at Whakatane, Arthur Mitchell Wray, aged 25, motor-mechanic and driver, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment by Mr Justice Fair in the Supreme Court today. Accused spent three days in the bush, without food, before he was caught Counsel said the abduction of which he was guilty came from an unfortunate infatuation, not from any criminal or vicious tendency. The sentence passed yesterday will be served concurrently with the three months’ sentence imposed on the abduction charge.
