WEST SCHOOL
ROOM FOR RETARDATES A letter was received at last night’s meeting of the Hamilton Technical High School Board of Managers from the Auckland Education Eoard, which desired two rooms in the old Hamilton West School to be retained for the use of retardate children when the Technical College took over control of the West School. The chairman, Mr Nisbet, said that the proposal to have younger children in the same school as the secondary pupils was ’not satisfact • ory, but it was difficult to see what other arrangements could be made in view of the congestion in the other primary schools. The board decided to inform the Auckland Education Board that it was willing to make two rooms temporarily available for the use of the special class when the old West School was placed at its disposal.
