ON BRITISH SOIL AGAIN

SALVATION ARMY OFFICER (By Telegraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Friday “I am looking forward to serving again under the British Flag,” said Colonel W. Alex Ebbs, the new Chief Secretary of the Salvation Army in New Zealand, who arrived by the Monterey from America, accompanied by his wife. They were met by Lieutenant-Commissioner J. Evan Smith, New Zealand commander of the Salvation Army. “It is 21 years since I left England for the Continent, and it will be a novel experience after almost a lifetime in foreign countries to be again a resident of the British Empire,” said Colonel Ebbs.
