CHIEF JUDGE HONOURED
SERVICE TO NATIVE RACE (By Telegraph.— Special to Time*) AUCKLAND, Friday The retiring Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, Mr C. G. MacCormick, was the guest of honour at a reception today. Mr O. N. Campbell, Under-Secretary of the Native Land Department, presided, and speeches were made by the AttorneyGeneral, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, the vice-president of the New Zealand Law Society, Mr A. H. Johnstone, K.C., Mr P. K. Paikea, M.P. for Northern Maori, 'Mr A. Ormsby, representing the Waikato-Maniapoto Maoris, and Mr H. Tai Mitchell, the Arawa tribe. On behalf of the lastmentioned, Mr Mitchell presented Mr MacCormick with a carved patu.
