PATRIOTIC RACING
PICNIC CLUB ATTRACTION MEETING AT TE AWAMUTU On Saturday on the Waipa Racing Club's well-appointed course at Te Awamutu, the Te Awamutu Light Horse Association win stage its inaugural meeting, the profits from which are to toe devoted -to patriotic purposes. Jumping and flat races, nine events in all, make for a most -interesting programme and one that should attract wide patronage, especially as there are no racing or trotting fixtures In -the province to serve as a counter-attraction. There will, in addition to the regular programme, toe staged a two-year-old parade and an exhibition of trotting. The first race is scheduled to commence At 11.30 a.rn., the charge -for admission to all parts toeing fixed at 2s 6d. Sweepstakes, under Section 45 of the Gaming Acit, 1908, will toe permitted.
