Mr H. W. Nixon, of Putaruru, left last night for Wellington by the Limited express.
Major-General R. Young, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., Dominion Commander of the Home Guard, is visiting Hamilton.
The Rev. J. H. Combes, of Matamata, was nominated as Moderator of the Waikato Presbytery for the next six months at yesterday’s meeting.
Mr F. W. Vickerman, managing director of New Zealand Woolpacks and Textiles, Limited, has returned to Wellington after visiting Australia to investigate the fibre industry.
