NO. 4 AREA QUOTA FOURTH REINFORCEMENTS ABOUT 100 EXTRA RECRUITS About 100 extra recruits in the No. 4 (Hamilton) military area will be mobilised with the Fourth Reinforcements of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force to meet the revised quota for the area. Originally it was intended to mobilise 492 recruits for the draft, but now nearly 600 volunteers will encamp. No date has been fixed for mobilisation, but it is thought likely that it will be within about two weeks. The increase in the quota for the No. 4 area has been made necessary by a re-allocation of units. Some recruits who have already been notified that they have been drafted to a certain unit may be transferred to another section, but in such cases they will be notified by the military authorities in due course. The extra quota will be met from the volunteers available. Under the previous quota of 492 the area still had between 150 and 200 additional recruits ready for camp. The revision of the quota will mean that the area’s nucleus for the Fifth Reinforcements will be reduced to about 50 to 100 men only.
