The Prime Minister of South Africa, General Smuts, stated in the Assembly that the daily war expenditure of the Union throughout August was £126,000. The Ulster Government has hired a 4000-ton ship, in which it is interning men suspected of activities connected with the Irish Republican Army. Twelve of 25 sailors who landed at Galway had sailed in two ships which were both torpedoed within four days.
