PUBLIC SERVANTS TEMPORARY POSITIONS INDIGNATION MEETING (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday Strong resentment at the tenor of letters forwarded to temporary public servants by the Land and Income Tax Department, adversely criticisi'ng their work during the last year, was expressed at a meeting held during the lunch hour. The meeting decided to draw up a resolution asking for the removal from the files of the Commissioner the reports on which the letters were based, and requesting an immediate further report on each man’s work. Copies of the resolution are to be forwarded to the senior officer on each floor and to the Commissioner. Some of the letters stated that the work of the addressee would be subject to a further report in three months’ time to determine whether his services would be dispensed with, ing as <*r st t£. The letters were described by the meeting as false and unfair.
