RUMANIA BOMBED
AIRPORT MACHINE-GUNNED HUNGARIAN PLANE SHOT DOWN (United Press Assn. —Elec. Tel. Copyrig-ht) (Received August 29, 3.15 p.m.) BUCHAREST, August 28 A communique states that a Hungarian plane bombed and machinegunned the Transylvanian airport of Satumare. The Rumanian antiaircraft batteries shot down the plane. It is also reported that the diplomats have been informed that Hungarian planes bombed Arad. HUNGARY’S VERSION BOMBING DENIED “CHASED RUMANIAN PLANES” (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyrig-ht) (Received August 29, 3.15 p.m.) BUCHAREST, August 28 The Foreign Office denies that a Hungarian bomber attacked the Sutamare airport., and says “five Ru- ; manian planes from Sutamare crossed the Hungarian frontier, evidently to j take photographs. Two of ours took off and forced them back. The Ru- I manian planes and one Hungarian plane was forced down on Rumanian soil during the pursuit, owing to engine trouble.”
