MEETING OF LEAGUE
MANY MEMBERS ATTEND The League of Wives and Mothers of exservicemen and men of H.M. Forces recently held its fortnightly meeting in the Hamilton Citizens’ Bandroom, Mrs D. I. Gate presiding. There was a large attendance, several new members being enrolled. Mrs Gate stated that the Soldiers’ Club open during the week-ends had been very popular with the men on leave, and it would certainly be continued. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the many women and business firms who had so generously donated food and comforts, special thanks were passed to Mr Allan Bell end to the Happiness Club for their gifts of tea and sugar. Mesdames White and Watson were In charge of the social programme, which was much enjoyed. Mrs Rumaey being the winner of the competition. Afternoon tea was served by the host esse.'. The next meeting will be on August 20, when all mothers and wives of soldier's are welcome.
