WOOL CLIP

SKIRTING ADVISED MONETARY ADVANTAGE (By Tclpgraph.—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Urgent advice to growers to skirt the new season’s wool, that is, to cut the pieces off, was given today by Mr B. J. Marquet, chairman of the Auckland Woolbrokers’ Association, when commenting on the appraisement- of crutchings and oddments begun at the Parnell Stores today. “The fact that wool is skirted may make as great a difference as lid a lb,” he said, “and the place to do it is in the sheds as the wool comes off the sheep, not in stores.” It was expected that a shortage of labour next season would prohibit the possibility of skirting wool in the stores.

Mr Marquet, commenting on the quality of the new season’s wool, said the way it was opening up at the stores augured well for the new clip.
