FAREWELL AFTERNOON
FOR MRS J. HARDCASTLE On Friday afternoon, Mrs N. G. Bray, president of St. George’s Guild, entertained guild members at her home in Mill Street, to bid farewell to Mrs J. Hardcastle, who is leaving the district. A pleasant social hour was spent, and an amusing competition was won by Mrs Whitley. During the afternoon, Mrs Bray, in presenting a silver cake dish, expressed the regret members felt at parting with such a loyal member as Mrs Hardcastle, who had been a member the longest time since the guild had been formed. Bray, to receive her guests, was wearing a pretty clover satin crepe with gold accessories, and Mrs Hardcastle wore a brown tailored suit and hat to tone. Those present were: Mesdames C. Holloway, F. Hawke, A. Barker, G. Buckland, H. J. Beeche, Roderick, J. S. Anchor, D. Boyt, A. G. Sanford, F. Price, Russel, jnr., Whittaker, H. Rolfe, H. J. Warrington, Whitley, Russell, senr., Haynes. Hughes, R. H. Coombes, W. Beckett, Miss C. Jolly.
