TE AWAMUTU WEDDING

PARTRIDGE—RICKIT The wedding was solemnised at St. John’s Church, Te Awamutu, on Tuesday, August 5, between Margaret Joan, second daughter of Mr and Mrs K. C. Rickit, and Arthur Ruston, only son of the late Mr E. Partridge and Mrs W. Davies, of Huntly. The Rev. M. Sullivan officiated. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a lovely white satin and lace frock, the skirt being cut on classical lines with a fine lace inset flare from the waist at the back to a long train applique with lace flowers. The bodice was slightly gathered to form a cowl effect, and a row of tiny satin buttons trimmed the back. The sleeves of lace were long and tight-fitting to the wrist. Her veil of Brussels lace was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a sheaf of white cyclamen and maidenhair fern. Miss Vera Rainey, who was the bridesmaid, wore a beautiful frock of shell pink ripple chiffon, cut on simple lines, the bodice and short sleeves being softly gathered and swathed at the waist with a tie sash. She wore a large cameo pendant, a present from the bridegroom, and carried a bouquet of daffodils and marigolds. Mr D. Catley, of Orini, was best man.

The wedding breakfast was held at the Regent Lounge, the guests being received by the bride’s sister, Mrs J. Walton, of Pokuru, who wore a model frock of dusky pink charmeuse with a brown musquash coat and accessories. She wore a shoulder spray of cyclamen and hyacinth to tone. Mrs Davies, mother of the bridegroom, wore a musquash fur coat and matching accessories. Later a reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs K. C. Rickit, where the latter received the guests wearing a model frock of black crepe appliqued in white. When Mr and Mrs Partridge left for the honeymoon the bride was wearing a honey beige woollen suit with a matching hat and a musquash coat. They will make their home at Ohinewai.
