RUGBY, July 26 In addition to the attack on a town on the south-east coast of England, bombs fell on another south-oastern town this morning, apparently from an enemy plane which unloaded while being pursued by fighters. Several houses and a school woro damaged. There woro some casualties. INTERNED MISS MARY BOOTH LONDON, July 26 Miss Mary Booth, head of the Salvation Army operations in Denmark and the second daughter of the late General Bramwell Booth, has, with her secretary, Colonel Eva Smith, been interned by the Germans. SOVIET DOMINATION CONFISCATION OF INDUSTRY NEW RAILWAYS LAID MOSCOW, July 26 The radio announced that the railway across Latvia and Lithuania from Russia to the German frontier has been relaid on Russian broad gaugo. It added that nationalisation of Lithuanian industry will be completed in five days, and former owners will not be compensated. ONE MINUTE SILENCE DAILY OBSERVANCE PROPOSAL IN BRITAIN LONDON, July 26 Mr Churchill is considering a proposal for establishing one minute’s silence daily throughout Britain, to be dedicated to the cause for which Britain is fighting. Major Wellesley Tudor-Polo submitted the proposal to Mr Churchill supported by the signatures of 15,000 influential people and said he hoped the silence would be observed throughout the Empire and throughout the American Dominions and Colonies. Italian planes attacked ships, fortifications , oil tanks, and harbour depots causing numorous fires in the harbour and dry docks.
