NEW ROTORUA AMENITY (By Telegraph.—Spectal to Times) ROTORUA, Friday Maori and pakeha ceremonies were mingled in the official opening today of the municipal building in Rotorua. The arrival of the official party, including the Minister of Industries and Commerce, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, representing the Government, Sir Ernest and Lady Davis, the Bishop of Aotearoa, the Rt. Rev. F. A. Bennett. Mr C. F. Clinkard and Mr A. F. Moncur, M.P., was greeted by a traditional Maori challenge. Before the building was formally opened by Mr Sullivan the ceremony of lifting the tapu was performed by Chief Tuoro Tanga with the traditional incantation. Following immemorial custom two Maori women, Miss Hinemihe Kingi and Miss Nini Waaka. were first to pass through the door.
