CHRISTMAS PARTY
CROQUET MEMBERS HONOURED
The members of the Hamilton Croquet Club were the guests of the vice-presidents, Mrs Peter Thomsen and Mrs W. O. Carbon, at a jolly Christmas party held in the club house on Saturday. The pavilion was charmingly arranged with pale pink and blue streamers and balloons, which imparted a festive air to the function in keeping with the season. Artistic decorations carried out in pale pink gerberas and sweet peas adorned the tea tables, and the distribution of paper caps, and novelties added to the jovial spirit abroad. The prizewinners during the afternoon were Mesdames I. Webster, J. Earl, A. E. Savage, S. Jameson, Proudlock and H. Shepherd. The hostesses, Mrs Thomsen and Mrs Carbon, who were presented with lovely scarlet geranium posies by Mrs Savage, were wearing a Wallis blue ensemble and a hand-printed Oriental patterned crepe mignon frock respectively. Those present were:—Mesdames H. H. Howden, G. E. A. Wilkes, A. E. Savage, G. Seifert, J. Shepherd, J. Old, I. Webster, M. Green, D. York, G. Brockelsby, S. Jameson, H. Shepherd, Proudlock, Higgs, J.’Earl, Misses V. Foulston, M. Storey, Thelma Webster.
