COMING-OF-AGE PARTY
MRS R. B. BINNS ENTERTAINS Frankton Railway Institute was a scene of gaiety recently when Mr and Mrs R. B. Binns, of Blackburn Street, entertained the friends of their youngest son, Basil, at a social evening in honour of his 21st birthday. The hall was tastefully decorated in colours of the Northern Amateur Cycling Club, the guest-of-honour being a very successful performing member of the club. Dancing was interspersed with instrumental and vocal items, Mrs N. Binns, of Arahuri, rendering two violin solos, and Miss B. Binns elocutionary items.
During supper several toasts were proposed and honoured, including one to the guest-of-honour, who was presented with the customary key, and was called upon to cut the beautiful birthday cake, to the accompaniment of much jovial banter.
