WEDDING

HENDERSON—DOUGLAS The marriage was solemnised at Knox Presbyterian Church, Ngaruawahia, on the afternoon of Saturday, December 16, between Margaret Winifred, elder daughter of Mr W. R Douglas, of Te Awamutu, and Sapper Bruce K. Henderson, eldest son of Mr and Mrs T. Henderson, of Dunedin. The Rev. R. P. Steele performed the ceremony and Mrs W. Martin officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a charming frock of powder-blue embossed satin, with a redingote of delphinium-blue, scalloped around the neckline and down the two fronts. She wore a white turban with a veil of stiffened net, and a shoulder spray of white sweet peas and maidenhair fern. She carried a prayer book. The Matron-of-Honour Mrs E. W. Jacobs attended as matron-of-honour, and she wore a smart frock of cyclamen-shaded crepe-de-chine cut on princess lines, the V-neckline being edged with cyclamen crepe-de-chine. She wore a matching hat and a shoulder spray. Mr E. Hallberg was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at “The Grange,” Horotiu, the residence of Mr and Mrs E. W. Jacobs. The rooms were attractively arranged with flowers in shades of blue, ivory and cyclamen. Mrs W. R. Douglas wore a frock of navy crepon with a navy sheer coat, and Mrs M. Jacobs, grandmother of the bride, wore an ensemble of black silk marocain with a spray of violets. Mrs Henderson, mother of Mrs E. W. Jacobs, wore navy sheer over crepe-de-chine with a spray of stock.

When Sapper and Mrs B. K. Henderson left for Dunedin, the bride travelled wearing a navy pin-stripe costume with navy accessories and furs.
