ENJOYABLE DANCE

OLD GIRLS’ ASSOCIATION An enjoyable evening was spent by those who attended a most successful dance organised by the Matamata Old Girls’ Association and held in Loveridge’s Tea Rooms recently, when the senior pupils of the Matamata District High School were the guests of honour. The committee were Mrs J. Simpson (president), Misses Hilda Chilton and Betty Whitworth (vice-presi-dents), Miss Dorothy Chelton (hon. secretary), Misses Colleen Mclntyre, May Lock and Betty Cameron. The novelty dances were won by Miss Murray and Mr T. Whitworth, and Miss Betty Cameron and partner. During the evening, two much appreciated songs were rendered by Miss Murray. Among those present were: Mrs Kevin Fitzgerald. Misses E. V. Bell, D. Graham (Okoroire), Murray, E. Whitworth, P. Simpson, Savory, G. Johnston, N. Hirst, Ann Wright, Thelma Chilton Hazel McVinnie, Collina Mears, Joyce McVinnie, Alison Gray, Marjorie Hawes, Terry McCarthy, Eve Bellamy, Joy Savory, Jean McPhail. Audrey Davidson, Fawn Cook, Joan Quinlan, Marie Hitchcock.
