OFFICERS INSTALLED

FRANKTON DRUIDS LODGE The Frankton Druids met last week for the last time this year, the occasion being the installation of officers and the usual wind-up sociai. Arch Druid Bro. A. H. Oldridge presided over a large gathering of Druids from all parts of the No. 15 District. District President Bro. Spiers installed the following officers:—Bro. J. Cotter, A.D.; Bro. A. H. Oldridge, J.P.A.; Miss N. King, V.A.; Bro. R. Tankton, 1.G.; Miss M. Watson, 0.G.; Bro. and Mrs Griffiths, A.D.B’s.; Miss Torry and Bro. N. Watson, V.A.B’s.; Bro. W. Whittaker, M.C., and Miss Kirk, M.S.

During the evening D.P. Bro. Spiers presented J.P.A. Bro. R. Rice with his P.A. Collar and Diploma.

The Frankton Druids held their annual Christmas tree festival for the children on Saturday. The function was thoroughly enjoyed by the members’ wives and families, no effort having been spared to make the event a big night for the children. CHILDREN S TREAT LODGE CHRISTMAS TREE The annual Christmas tree and children’s treat held under the auspices of the Loyal Hamilton Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, was held last lodge night. The gathering was a bigger success than ever, a large number of children under 10 years of age attending and partaking of the good things provided. The women members of the lodge looked after the tables. Father Christmas was present in person and extended a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all. The toy-laden tree was stripped of its treasures, and every child present was made happy by receiving from Father Christmas personally a useful gift. Sweets and ice cream were dispensed to the children, and Miss Glady Johnston gave two fancy dances.
