BOWLING

CAMBRIDGE CLUB PRESENTATIONS MADE (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Monday There was a large attendance of members at the Cambridge Bowling Club’s greens on Saturday, and play Took place under good conditions. Before play commenced the president, Mr C. W. Hooker, assembled the members and extended a welcome home to Mr M. J. McNamara, who has just returned after a six months' trip to England and Ireland. The members then stood silent as a mark of respect to a member who had recently suffered a bereavement. A happier note was struck by Mr Hooker, when he asked the club's caretaker, Mr Frank Hall, to accept a gift from the members in appreciation of “ their faithful caretaker and friend.” (Applause.) At the tea adjournment a presentation was made to Mrs W. Webber, the club’s tea lady. The gift was p tea-service in appreciation of the good service “ and the many dainty touches ” Mrs Webber had given ‘o :he club's afternoon tea period. Mrs Webber suitably replied.
