There was a large attendance, and the track was in splendid order after recent rain. Results:

Winner trained by T. M. Morris, Cambridge. Giving by far his best exhibition to date, Hopakmg jumped to tile front six furlongs from home and, although he was challenged strongly at the entrance to the straight by Devon, he out-jumped the favourite to go on and win decisively. His return straight out was close on double figures. Chikira, as at Te Rapa, was finishing on solidly at the end. Noisy Night, Mai de Mer, and Glen Abb were at terms at the llr&t fence, followed closely by Mio Fratollo, Mimetic, and Devon. as the Held raced past the stands Mai de Mer, Noisy Night and Glen Abb were followed by Hopalong, with Allmetic, Stokowski, Devon and Sockettes next, with Chikara bringing up the rear. Hopalong moving through, was in charge six rurlongs from home and across the top he was racing clear of Mai de Mer and Glen Abb, with a gap to Devon, London and the tiring Noisy Night. Royal Nation and Stokowski followed that bunch. Devon was almost on terms with Hopalong as they entered the home straight, with Mai de Mer and Glen Abb handy and a gap to London, Sockettes and Chikara. Hopalong came away in the straight and won nicely by threequarters of a length from Devon, with UiJcaru two lengths away third. Mai de .Mer was fourth and then came Glen Abb Sockettes, General llusc, London and Royal Nation. Time, 2.49.

In which the placed division Hashed past the post practically in line, Clipper llnished on to win by a narrow’ margin from Town section who also came at the right end. Sunny Downs, who llnished third, appeared to be on the upgrade. Australian star made a bold bid to will from end to end but tired over the last half furlong. The prospects of May Song and Ngawirl were settled at the start when they swung around when the tapes were released. Ngawirl was hopelessly left and May Song took no part In the race. Town Section led early from The Ugly Duckling, clipper, Australian Mar and TeJlsom. who lost his rider in the llrst furlong. Melaniun and Cornish were the handiest ol the others. Australian .-tar ran to the front by the half-mile and across the top was followed by The Ugly Duckling, le lakniji, Town Section, Clipper, Cornish. Milanion and Sunny Downs. Australian star swung wide as they turned into the straight with T«i Takina handy in front of Clipper, Town Section, Milanion and Corn-l-Mi who appeared to be checked on the iails. In an exciting finish, Clipper secured the verdict 'by a head over Town Section with Sunny Downs a similar distance away third.
