WEDDING
McBI'RNEY STOW CREAM SATIN GOWN The marriage was solemnised at Holy Trinity Church, Ngaruawahia on the afternoon of December 2, between Margaret Evelina, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. W. Stow, of Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia, and Owen John, twin son of Mr and Mrs G. Mcßurney, of old Taupiri Road, Ngaruawahia. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. D. W. Raine, and Mr S. Sampson presided at the organ. The cnurcu was arranged by friends of the biiae with flowers in shades of pink and lavender and greenery. The bride, who eme-red the church with her father wore a beautiful gown of deep cream French satin, me bodice was arranged with a heart-shaped neckline tne long sleeves falling to points over the wrists. Deep cream lace formed the Vandyked bodice, the very full skirt being inset witn godets of lace. Tne top of each godet was finished with a tiny bow oi satin. Her veil of embroidered tulle was caught to the head with orange blossoms and fell to form a long train. Sne carried a bouquet of Christmas lilies, roses and maidenhair fern.
Attending were three bridesmaids, Miss Joyce Brocklebank, Miss Edna Mcßurney and Miss Stella Fuller, who wore similar gowns of Marina green, apricot and lavender 1< reach satin, fasnioned on the same lines as that oi the bride. They >frore coronets of flowers and carried bouquets of lemon carnations and anenomies. The best man was Mr G. Mcßurney, and the groomsman Mr Noel Slow. The ushers were Mr E. Stow and Mr H. J. Mcßurney. After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, which was attractively arranged with multi-coloured streamers, shaded flowers and a large floral wedding bell. The guests were received by Mrs H. W. Stow wearing a smart frock of London tan silk marocain and a toning hat. She carried a posy of autumn-tinted flowers. Mrs G. Mcßurney, mother of the bridegroom, wore an ensemble of navy sheer, and she carried a posy of scariet carnations and maidenhair fern. When Mr and Mrs O. J. Mcßurney left by car for the honeymoon the bride travelled wearing an airforce I blue costume with a navy hat and accessories. They will make their home in Ngaruawahia.
