WAITOA FUNCTION

MISS M. PERRY HONOURED The popularity of Miss Mavis Perry was evinced by the large attendance at the Waitoa Hall recently, when approximately 300 were present at a gift evening. Miss Perry is shortly to be married. An enjoyable time was spent in dancing, extras being played by Misses Betty Vercoe and Joan Luxton and Mr J. Staiger. A novelty dance was won by Miss Lola Inglis and Mr S. Bigwood. Mr C. Blomfieid carried out the duties of master of ceremonies. During the evening items were given by Miss M. Dally and Mr W. Rosenfeldt. Mr J. Lynch, chairman, in an eulogistic speech, presented Miss Perry with the large array of parcels and wished her all happiness and success in the future. Petty Officer Cave responded on behalf of his fiancee.
