IMPORT CONTROL

TOTAL PROHIBITIONS JEWELLERS AFFECTED In an urgent special notice to retail jewellers in Hamilton, a Wellington wholesale firm states that owing to the import regulations certain goods cannot possibly be replaced when the present small stocks are exhausted. Among the many lines totally prohibited are all jewellery, diamonds, china ware, haberdashery, plated-ware, crystal, lancy goods and earthenware. Twenty-five per cent of the usual quota of hardware is allowed and 50 per cent of cutlery. The prohibitions apply to the January-June licenses.
