PLEA ALTERED
CHARGE OF MISCHIEF (By Telegraph.—Press Association) HOKITIKA. Thursday There was an unusual happening in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. At the morning sitting an accused person, charged with committing mischief, pleaded not guilty and was committed for trial to the Supreme Court. In the afternoon accused notified his desire to plead guilty. The magistrate, Mr Chisholm, withdrew his previous decision and admitted accused to probation for 12 months and ordered the restitution of £ls and payment of costs. Accused was ordered also to take out a prohibition order.
