WAIKATO CLUB NEEDS INTERESTING STAMP ADDRESS The first general meeting of the newly-formed Waikato Philatelic Society was held at the home of the president, Dr. W. R. Fea, River Road, last night. There was an attendance of 21 members. After the routine business Dr. Fea gave a lengthy and interesting address on the present issue of New Zealand stamps, illustrated by examples from his own recent collection, and pointing out peculiarities in papers and watermarks, together with re-entries, obvious and obscure. Several questions were asked the lecturer. In a competition arranged by the secretary, Messrs R. Tonar and D. Edsall tied for first place, Mr Tonar winning in the final. Some line collections were exhibited by members, and several sales were put through, commissions being credited to the club’s funds. It was resolved to meet in future at the Whitiora Bowling Club’s pavilion on the second Wednesdav in each month.
