PRISONERS SENTENCED
OFFENDERS IN SOUTH (By Telegraph.—Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Friday In the Supreme Court this morning Mr Justice Ostler sentenced the following prisoners—Charles Henry Smith, for indecent assault on a woman, was granted probation for two years and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution. Reginald Cooper, aged 35, for breaking, entering and theft, received two years’ reformative detention. James'Myles Ford, aged 22, for indecent assault, 18 months’ reformative detention. An application for a new trial on the grounds that the verdict was against the weight of evidence was dismissed.
