MARRIAGES IN HAMILTON DEATHS AND BIRTHS INCREASE The increase in the number of marriages in Hamilton, which was noticeable after the outbreak of war in September, subsided last month, the figures for which showed an increase of only six on those for October of 1938. In October last year 30 marriages were performed, and this year the number rose to 36. The marriages performed by the registrar last month numbered five, an increase of one on the total for October, 1938. In the first ten months of 1939 the registrar performed 60 marriages; compared with 49 for the similar period in 1938. Births last month numbered $7, compared with 48 in October last year, and deaths numbered 38 as against 35 last year. MARKED INCREASE AUCKLAND WEDDINGS (Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Wednesday Compared with the corresponding months last year, there were 188 and 103 more marriages, respectively, in the last two months. Marriage notices for the year to date number 2752, which shows an increase of 270 in comparison with the first ten months of last year. A decided rise in the number of marriages performed by the registrar was also recorded in October, there being 60, compared with 35 in October last year. Marriages by the registrar for the year number 580, compared with 536 for the same period last year.
