PRE=WEDDING PARTY

EVENING AT TAIHOA A large number of friends of Miss Phyllis Mason attended a gift evening arranged in honour of her approaching marriage. The function was held in the Taihoa Hall, dancing, cards and items comprising the programme. Mr V. Anderson was master of ceremonies, and dance music was suplied by Mrs Cotter, Mrs Anderson and Messrs Henderson. Bros. Items were contributed by Misses Phyllis Seed, Margaret Liddy and Fay Holmes (tap dancing), Miss Olwyn Woodnough (Spanish dance), Mr A. Andrew (songs), and Mr W. Warrender (conjuring). A novelty dance was won by Miss J. Connell and Mr Burnett, and a spot waltz by Miss Wilson and Mr C. Wilson. Mr Anderson referred to the impending departure of Miss Mason, who had lived all her life in the district. She would be missed by a wide circle of friends, who joined in best wishes for her future happiness. Those present included: Mesdames G. Mason, E. Stych, C. Wilson, A. Connell, V. Anderson, A.
