HAPPY DANCE
JUNIOR MEMBERS ENTERTAIN WAIKATO LYCEUM CLUB A delightful dance ’was held last night in the Centreway Rooms, which were charmingly arranged with bowls of spring flowers, by the junior members of the Lyceum Club to eirtertain, and in many instances to farewell, their partners before they leave for military training. All the latest dances, including “Boomps-a-daisy,” were played by Mr Cuth Andrews, Miss Tui Molesworth and Mr Raglan Lovell, who supplied the music, and an air of gaiety prevailed throughout the evening. The president of the Lyceum Club. Mrs Hugh Douglas, who was wearing a charming frock of navy and white silk needlerun lace and navy romaine, and Mrs H. J. McMullin, vice-president, wearing angelico pink faconne and a floral coatee, received the guests, who were presented by Miss Alison Gower, Convener of the Junior Circle, in a gown of ivory Venetian lace over pink. Those present were:—Misses Bid Farrer, magnolia chiffon; Muriel House, lilac and pastel blue georgette; Kath Mears, shell pink georgette redingote; Estelle Miller, white royal blue spotted organdi; Noeline Peterson, floral dimity; Buster Moorhouse, black georgette; Pat Ambury, hydrangea blue tinsel cloque; Sheila Smith, lagoon blue embossed crepe; Jean Livingstone, capucine pink taffeta. Many Pastel Shades Misses Helene Clark, Buckingham lilac floral taffeta; Hessey Dey, ivory tulip taffeta; Molly Iggulden, cardinal red shot taffeta; Ray Pomeroy, buttercup georgette; Jeanette Ward, lotus bud pink taffeta; Doreen Bishop, parchment chiffon; Molly Anneti, gold coin-spot crepe Glamis; Peggie Iggulden, Jubilee blue shaded taffeta; Ruthe Carbon, ivory frilled net; Rosalie Seddon, ivory cire taffeta; Betty Bisley, ivory chenille sttiped satin; Pat Farrer, red floral chiffon; Heather Stewart, black craquelle and black net; Christine Farrer, floral tinsel cloque; Betty Bates, Chartreuse green crepe mignon; Lindsay Kendrick, powder blue taffeta; Betty Pinfold, Windsor blue marquisette; Joan Pinfold, gipsy striped chiffon; Gail Burtenshaw, white striped navy jacquard; Beth Muir, periwinkle blue marquisette; Dorothy Rogers, hyacinth blue taffeta; Barbara Rogers, multi-coloured striped georgette; Valerie Beckett, aqua blue taffeta; Margaret Wood, harmony pink taffeta; Rae Robertson, carnation pink souple satin; Enid Gillman, shell pink embossed crepe mignon; Cecil Gaze, periwinkle blue hailstone muslin; Molly Ambury, foxglove pink lace, Joyce Lewis (Cambridge), bluestriped silver chiffon; Sybil Cleland, duck-egg blue taffeta.
