JOLLY DANCE
VISITORS ENTERTAINED Red and white streamers decorated the Fencourt Hall last Saturday night, when the visiting University players were the guests of the Hautapu Football Club at a dance. Music was supplied by Mr F. Morriss (piano) and Mr E. Wattam (pianoaccordion), extras being played by Mr Ross Beange. Mr A. Pennell made an efficient master of ceremonies. A novelty dance was won by Miss N. Ramsay and Mr A. Duckworth. Members of the Cambridge Rugby Union were present, and during the overling Mr D. Bourke (president) presented the trophies won in the ulocal competitions during the season. Hautapu was the winner of the junior championship and Leamington was the third grade champion. The women of the committee, who were responsible for the supper arrangements were:—Mrs T. Turnbull, black lace and georgette; Mrs D. Arnold, navy appliqued georgette; Mrs C. Jones, black moire; Mrs T. Bourke, white pencil striped satin; Mrs R. Wattam, midnight blue lace; Mrs R. Kidd, wine ring velvet; Mrs R. Kidd, junr., gold hammered satin; Mrs T. Reilly, cyclamen taffeta; Miss S. Jones, daffodil georgette; Miss M. Jones, mauve ripple ninon. Others present were:—Mrs D. Bruce, navy pencil striped satin; Mrs H. E. Roberts (Auckland), black and white figured ninon; Mrs A. Paton, brown striped moire; Mrs McKinder, floral georgette; Mrs V. G. Boulton, ring velvet; Mrs T. Dagg, black lace; Mrs H. N. Freeman, petrel blue georgette; Mrs D. L. Falls, floral patterned sheer; Mrs G. Clayton, lemon taffeta; Mrs J. Ross (Auckland), ice blue taffeta. Miss R. Arnold, cornflower blue lace; Miss D. Wattam, mauve lace and georgette; Miss G. Damton, green figured sheer; Miss N. Ramsay, green metallic organza; Miss M. Ramsay, black striped ninon; Miss Jean Bruce, apple green taffeta; Miss Irene Bruce, cyclamen satin; Miss M. Paton, lemon floral voile; Miss R. Paton, tartan taffeta; Miss P. Wilson, mauve georgette; Miss M. Chard, electric blue taffeta; Miss C. McKinder, cornflower blue sheer; Miss C. Jamieson, black velvet; Miss J. Reid, black spangled sheer; Miss M. Kyle (Gordonton), navy patterned georgette; Miss M. Harmer, red and white floral georgette; Miss E. Worms, green sprigged taffeta; Miss F. Ross (Auckland), white brocaded taffeta; Miss Hessie Day (Auckland), green satin; Miss E. McCutcheon, fuchsia taffeta.
