HALL FUNDS BENEFIT

When the Orphans’ Club orchestra, of Huntly, presented a concert in the Gordonton Hall recently, there was a large attendance, and as a result the local hall fund benefited considerably. Under the conductorship of Mr Lloyd Peach, the orchestra presented some excellent items, interspersed with songs, tap dances and conjuring. A play was presented by the Waiterimu Drama Club ' and was well received. At the conclusion of the concert programme Mr R. G. Young thanked the performers for their splendid effort on behalf of the hall funds, which was much appreciated. Supper was served in the supper room, where the tables were gay with bowls of pink japonica. Dancing was later enjoyed, Mr W. Sharp making an efficient master of ceremonies.
