GIFT AFTERNOON

Miss Stella Reardon was hostess on Thursday at a charming gift afternoon tea held at H. & J. Court’s Tearooms in ( honour of Miss Mavis Thompson, who is resigning from the nursing staff of the Waikato Hospital, to be married. During the afternoon, Miss Thompson, who was the recipient of many beautiful gifts, was presented with a lovely posy of pink carnations and freesias with the good wishes of her friends for her future happiness. Those present were:—Misses Helen Ryburn, Isobel Wills, Margaret Cullen, Iris Frazer, Eileen Wallace, Rose Stead, Sally Marcroft, Renee Johanson, Joy 'Pomeroy.
