THE BREMEN
IN NORTHERN RUSSIAN PORT (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 28, 1.45 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 27 Mr Winston Churchill in the House of Commons, in answer to a question said the German steamer Bremen was believed to be in a northern Russian port. ADMISSION BY GERMANY ATTACK ON AIR LINER RESEMBLED ENEMY PLANE (United Press Assn.—Elec. TcL Copyrlgut, LONDON, Sept. 26 The attack on the K.L.M. air liner is officially admitted in Berlin, according to a Daventry broadcast. It was stated that the machine closely resembled a type of enemy aeroplane, and had no distinguishing marks that were visible at the distance. The pilot tried to escape into the clouds.
The German airmen stopped firing as soon as they learned of the machine’s nationality.
