LAST TRAGIC CALL
FATE OF SWEDISH AVIATOR DEATH ON ATLANTIC FLIGHT United Press Assn.—Elec. Te!. CopyrlgUt)
(Received Sept, 21, 11 a.m.) STOCKHOLM, Sept. 20
A note found in a bottle in the Ide fjord read: “S.O.S. Forced down in mid-Atlantic. If no help comes in three days I am lost.—Signed, Backman.”
This is believed to be the last tragic call of the Swedish aviator Carl Backman, who disappeared in the Atlantic last May when flying a plane on an illfated' ocean flight.
