MINOR AMENDMENT CONSTITUTION OF BOARD BREACH OF STANDING ORDERS FAVOURABLE RECOMMENDATION (By Tfleer.pn.—Special to Tim.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday Minor amendment, of ■ technical nature have boon mad. to tho Waikato Airport Bill by tho Local Bllla Commlttaa, which presented In report In tho Houeo of Representatives today, Tha commlttaa recommended that tha Airport Board conaiat of aovon members, two appointed by tho Hamilton Borough Oounoll, two by tho contributing county council., on# by the contributing borough oounolle, and two by tho Minister In Oharge of tho Air Do* partmsnt.
The committee pointed out that the requisite plans or survey, were not originally deposited for puhhc inspection along with copies of the Bill as required by the Standing Orders, but attention having been drawn to that fact llie promoters of the legislation had deposited plans lor public inspection for eight days and advertised accordingly in the daily newspaper circulating in the Waikato district. The committee considered tliat in doing this the promoters suillciently compiled with the intention ol the relevant standing orders in regard to giving publicity to their proposals.
The committee also ooneldsrsd that at tha praaant time It was da* slrabls In tha public Interest that tha airport should bo established. In those circumstances It reoommended that tha brsaoh of tha standing orders be waived.
