BASKETBALL DANCE
ALL TEAMS COMBINE A very enjoyable and successful dance was held at the Y.M.C.A.Y.W.'C.A. gymnasium on Tuesday night, all the basketball teams which had competed during the year participating in the function. The present popular dances “Boomps-a-daisy” and the “St. Bernard’s Waltz” were demonstrated, and added considerably to the spirit of gaiety which prevailed. During the evening Mr H. D. Caro presented the trophies to the winning teams and Mr F. Findlay gave an interesting talk on the international situation. The secretary, Mr' Ledgerwood, then introduced Mr Johnstone, the new physical director, and Mrs Johnstone, who were warmly received. Music for dancing was supplied by Mr W. Whitehead.
Among those present were:— Misses Norma Hendry, wearing flowered taffeta; Amy Taylor, parchment taffeta; Joyce Goombes, diagonal striped satin; Mary Stranger, wine shot taffeta; Norma Moreland, black and gold spotted net, 'and sequins; Estelle St. Paul, lavender embossed satin; Feme Cooper-Smith, purple and green striped georgette; Brenda Lewis, pink taffeta; J. Hendry, white embossed satin; Joan Redmond, autumncoloured taffeta; Lindsey Kendrick, ivory satin; Joan Ross, ivory taffeta; Beatrice St. Paul, lavender ninon; T. Choat, black and pink striped satin; Phyllis Parker, floral ninon; Harder, gold satin.
