Mrs R. English, Hamilton, is on a visit to Rotorua.
Mrs David Scott, Hamilton, is the gue6t of Mrs A. E. Tattley, Parnell, Auckland.
Mrs H. J. S. Johnson, Hamilton, was a recent visitor to Auckland to meet her mother-in-law, who has recently returned from England. Mrs B. Nelson, who has been on an extended visit to Auckland, is now the guest of her daughter-in-law, Mrs A. •Pringle Nelson, Hamilton.
Miss Elizabeth Loe, Auckland, has left for Napier, where she has been engaged by the Napier Repertory Society to produce its forthcoming performance.
Mrs 0. R. Farrer, Hamilton, has returned after a brief visit to Auckland to meet the Misses Christine and Patricia Farrer on their return from a visit to Australia.
The death of the novelist, Ethel M. Dell, has occurred in England. A prolific writer, Ethel M. Dell had more than 30 books published after the success of the first of her romantic novels, “The Way of An Eagle,” in 1912. Among the bestknown of them are “The Rocks of Yalpre,” “The Keeper of the Door,” “The Hundredth Chance,” “The Lamp in the Desert,” “The Obstacle Race,” “A Man Under Authority,” and “Where Three Roads Meet.” In 1922 she married Lieutenant-Colonel G. T. Savage, D. 5.0., R.A.S.C.
