LAWN TENNIS
NGARUA CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD (Special to Times) WAITOA, Wednesday. The Ngarua Tennis Club held its annual meeting in the local hall recently. The president, Mr S. C. Carter, presided over a good attendance. In hts report the president congratulated the club on the splendid performance or last season. The balance-sheet showed a substantial credit. It was decided to hold the opening day on Saturday, September 30. and to enter an A and B team in the Piako Tennis Association's series of inter-club matches.
The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr P. W. Davis; president. Mr S. G. Carter; vice-presidents, Messrs L. Davis. F. James. F- Hayward. W. c. Kennedy, ].. F,. Hobart, J. L. Lugton, W. Scott and R A. candy: secretary. Mrs J. l.amb; women's committee, Mesdames s. C. carter, J. Lamb, L. Donovan, Misses 8.
rayne and C. Lugton; club captain, Mr J. Lamb; delegates to Piako Tennis Association, Messrs P. W. Davis, R. A. candy and K. Lugton; men’s committee, Messrs S. C. Carter, J. Lamb, H. Franklin, k. Lugton. S. Lugton and L. Donovan.
