VISIT FROM OTAHUHU HAMILTON TECHNICAL VICTORIES The annual tournament between teams from the Otahuhu Technical High School and Hamilton Technical College took place in Hamilton yesterday under fine weather conditions, the local college winning all fixtures. In the senior Rugby game between representative first fifteens, played on No. 1 ground at Rugby Park, Hamilton secured the verdict by 17 points to 0. The game was fast and open. The local forwards were better at gaining the ball from the scrums which gave their backs numerous opportunities of which they were quick to avail themselves, a feature of the game being fast passing rushes. Tries were scored by 11. Gibson (3), M. Innes-Jones (i}, and E. Jackways (1), while D. Hart converted one try. The visitors attacked frequently but were unable to penetrate the local defence. • Mr Alex Bankier was the referee. The game between the second fifteens was also fast and open, and at half-time Otahuhu was leading by 7 points to 6. In the second spell Hamilton bottled its opponents up to add 8 points and win the match by 14 to 7. Mr R. Bullock had charge of the whistle. Basketball Results 'On the girls’ side, senior and junior basketball teams met on the college grounds, the local seniors gaining the verdict over their opponents by 16 points to 6, while the local juniors also won their game by 14 points to 6.
The visiting teams were entertained by the local college to luncheon and afternoon tea.
