REAL ESTATE INSTITUTE DINNER AND ANNUAL MEETING "With funds amounting to £B3, the "Waikato branch of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand has experienced one of the most successful years for some time, according to the annual report of the president, Mr A. Sorby, which was presented to the aiinuil meeting night, following the annual dinner in Hamilton. Several disputes between members and the branch had been amicably settled by the executive, stated the president, who thanked the members l'or their careful consideration of the disputes before reaching a decision. He considered it was a far more satisfactory way of settling disputes than taking them to court. The membership numbered 42, 11 new members having been elected since the last annual meeting. It was very encouraging, remarked the president, as throughout the district there were very few agents who were, not members of the institute. Universal tariff in the North Island was now an accomplished fact, after the delegates had worked for many years for the realisation of the measOfflcers for the Year The following officers were elected: President, Mr G. S. Boyes; vicepresident, Mr H. D. Matthews; committee, Messrs A. J. Canning, S. T. Cooper, W. 'C. Davies, G. W. Morey, 11. F. Saunders, H. A. Smith, J. L. Syms, G. 0. Bennett, H. J. Hare, H. Andrew, A. Sorby, and A. N. de L. Willis (ex-officio as a member of the council); auditor, Mr E. L. Jones; honorary solicitor, Mr N. S. Johnson. At the dinner, several toasts were honoured, the list being:— “ The King,” “ The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce,” proposed by Mr H. F. Saunders, and responded to by Mr G. W. Pepperell, president of the chamber; " The Legal Profession,” proposed by Mr A. N. de L. Willis, and responded to by Mr H. J. AlcAlullin, president of the Hamilton Law Society; ‘‘The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand,” proposed by Mr A. Sorby, and responded to by Mr G. S. Bc«2s, a vice-president of the institute; “The Visitors,” proposed by Mr A. J. Canning, and responded to by Mr Simcock; “ The Press,” proposed by Mr H. D. Matthews, and responded to by Mr A. E. Manning,
