Mr J. M. Allen, of Morrinsville, M.P. for Hauraki, has enlisted with the special force for active service at home or abroad.
Dr. E. Marsden, secretary to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, is returning to New Zealand with Mrs Marsden. He has been in England for four months engaged in work connected with his department.
Mr A. J. Gunn, formerly of the staff of the Hamilton Borough Council, has been appointed secretary of the Taranaki Hospital Board subject to a probationary period of six months. There were 68 applications.
Colonel Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrinsville, who is on a visit to England, has joined the Imperial Army, and is stationed at a camp at Bulford, according to cabled advice received yesterday.
