If ink stains on the fingers are rubbed with vinegar before the hands are washed they will disappear. A few drops of ammonia added to the water when washing pantry shelves will help to keep ants away. Before using a brass kettle which has been put away for any length of time, it should be cleaned out with salt and vinegar.
