SCRUB BURNING

RUAKURA SWAMP FIRE A large volume of smoke in the direction of the Ruakura State Farm attracted the attention of Hamilton residents early this afternoon. Inquiries revealed that a scrub fire is burning freely on the Ruakura swamp beyond the farm boundary and in the vicinity of the Ruakura railway station. The blaze was first noticed by settlers in that area shortly after mid-day.
